May 2012

AUTHORÕS NOTES:

On my recent appearance on Coast to Coast with George Noory I reiterated the predictions I have been making in this newsletter. The transits on Election Day, while powerful enough to continue this derisive power struggle in Washington, arenÕt sufficient to create a change of leadership. Obama gets another shot at the job. Because he wonÕt be inaugurated on a void of course moon like the first time, the next four years will be more productive and efficient.

With this Supreme Court, it wonÕt matter much who gets elected. America is heading backwards at an accelerated rate. Of course, if my prediction is wrong (heaven forbid!) and we were to elect a Republican president, keep the Republican majority in the house, and have this court to uphold the decisions made by the right winged government, we would rush to the precipice at an unnerving speed. Are we that suicidal as to hand all the power to an elitist, un-evolved, corporate-financed gang? WeÕll know soon enough.

ThereÕs a very short story by James Thurber called Interview with a lemming. In it, a reporter says to the lemming: ÒWe humans donÕt understand why you lemmings rush into the sea and drown yourselves.Ó And the lemming replies: ÒAnd we lemmings donÕt understand why you people donÕt.Ó

In 2013, the Euro, already on life support, will begin to collapse. Spain is the latest casualty. Its bonds are being issued at an untenable 8%. ThereÕs no way they will be able to make those payments while Germany and the central bank continue their austerity policies. Within 2 years, Northern Europe will start a new currency, under GermanyÕs control. Southern European countries will be cut free to float their currencies as needed. This will result in a continued deep recession for those nations for some time to come. Once the Euro fails, the flight to security will cause the dollar to rise, which will crush the stocks.

Venus retrogrades this month. While this isnÕt an earth shaking event, this yearly event will make relationships difficult and expression of emotions somewhat stifled. With Mars going direct now, there will be more aggression in relationships, but little warmth or compassion. It will be possible to overwhelm the other person with your attention, so try to tread lightly. Businesses that are geared exclusively towards women will see a dip in their trade.

It is now clear that fracking was responsible for a series of earthquakes in the mid-west. This ridiculously short-term solution will destroy huge sections of land for a few dollars. The stories out of Pennsylvania and other central states are frightening and disgusting. People turn their faucets on and receive flammable contaminants instead of water. The land is stripped to the bone, and probably will never again produce anything edible. The Uranus – Pluto square will create more disruptive events (Uranus) involving oil and gas (Pluto). I have been warning of this very thing for many months, and the recent events have proven my predictions once more.

This square continues until 2016. We can expect many more incidences involving energy – there will be accidents related to oil, fracking, nuclear, etc. If the Keystone pipeline does get the green light it will be an environmental disaster with long term destructive results. If the collective works out this square, we will wind up with a better energy policy. If they donÕt (and frankly I have little faith that we will), by the end of this period we will be deeper into the muddy with no way to climb out. We are controlled by Mobile, BP, and the other oil giants, who buy off our politicians with bags full of cash.

If aliens are here (or on their way) and they saw what we were doing to our planet – ripping it to shreds digging up dead dinosaurs, they would look up at the Sun, the biggest nuclear reactor there is, and wonder why we were destroying our environment when we have all the energy we could ever need hanging above us like a beacon in the dark. How I pray we will finally see the light – no pun intended.

NEW MOON:

The New Moon falls on Saturday April 21st at 3:18 A.M. EST at 1 degree Taurus 35 minutes. This lunar cycle will be all about possessions and values. What is most important to us and how we make use of our resources is what Taurus is mostly concerned with. This is the fixed earth sign, and perhaps the most stubborn of them all. ItÕs difficult for Taurus to make changes, and they do tend to stay on a chosen path despite all obstacles. This can be a good trait in the right circumstances, but a limiting one when things demand quick judgment and action. Try to bend a bit and donÕt be too fixed in your opinions. But this is a good lunar cycle under which you can begin new projects and lay the foundation down for future growth.

MERCURY CONJUNCTS URANUS:

On Sunday April 22nd at 4:30 P.M. EST this difficult and somewhat dangerous aspect completes. This can produce anxiety, irritability and accidents. Information will come at us at a very rapid pace, and it may be difficult to keep up with things. Distractions will be plentiful, and thatÕs what can cause accidents. Try to pay attention to what you are doing at the moment. Arguments are also common, so be careful what you say and how you say it. Some people will be looking for a fight. Let them find it somewhere else.

THE SUN TRINES MARS:

On Monday April 23rd at 8:59 P.M. EST this positive aspect comes along. All trines and sextiles must be used proactively or you wonÕt get the most from them. The harder aspects are more demanding and force themselves upon us. This transit is especially useful for work situations of all sorts. You can get a lot done in a short period, and others will be more apt to work with you towards a common goal. Egos are easily smoothed over, and you should be able to avoid any confrontations or useless disagreements.

MERCURY SQUARES PLUTO:

On Wednesday April 25th at 10:50 A.M. EST this rough aspect will present itself. There is a strong desire to get to the bottom of things and to dig out the truth. Squares are hard aspects, and this one can be relentless. Be sure you are willing and ready to hear what others will say. You will also be apt to say more than you had planned, so donÕt be surprised by the depth of communication you may instigate.

THE SUN TRINES PLUTO:

On Sunday April 29th at 5:33 A.M. EST this useful trine completes. The combination of the Sun and Pluto presents an opportunity to work more with the collective in some ways. When it is a positive aspect, such as this trine, it is easier to move things along and get people to work together in a group. ItÕs also easier to get access to other peopleÕs resources, so if youÕre putting on a Broadway show, you may wish to have an early breakfast with potential backers.

MERCURY OPPOSES SATURN:

On Saturday May 5th at 9:09 P.M.EST this difficult aspect will complete. Oppositions work themselves out through other people, so conversations and other communications may feel stifled and limited. It will be hard to express yourself, and if this aspect hits a sensitive point in your chart you could feel withdrawn and even depressed. It only lasts a few hours, so donÕt give it more power than it deserves.

FULL MOON:

This monthÕs lunar peak occurs on Sunday May 5th at 11:35 P.M. EST at 16 degrees Scorpio 01 minutes. This may be a rather intense Full Moon. Scorpio energy doesnÕt deal with anything on a superficial level. It digs deeply into whatever it is exploring, and often exposes secrets and hidden agendas. So donÕt be surprised by what you discover today. For the next few weeks, issues involving other peopleÕs resources or those held jointly with someone else will be in the forefront. Partnerships will also be examined, and those that arenÕt working out may end during this period.

MERCURY ENTERS TAURUS:

On Wednesday May 9th at 1:15 A.M. EST the planet of communication and short journeys enters this fixed earth sign. People will tend to take their time making decisions. Slow, careful planning is the best way to use this energy. If your natural inclination is towards speedy resolutions and quick conversations you may feel out of sorts this month. Those of us with fire sign Mercury will not enjoy this transit all that much. But it will slow things down so they may be examined more carefully.

THE SUN CONJUNCTS JUPITER:

On Sunday May 13th at 9:24 A.M. EST this wonderfully optimistic and far-sighted transit comes along. This is a day to look ahead and make plans for the future. Seek anything that is expansive and enlightening. Jupiter wants growth and will enlarge any situation it comes in contact with. There will be a lot of energy in the universe today, so do your best to take advantage of it. Conversations will be lighter and more positive. This is a good day to smooth over any rough spots that may exist in your relationships.

VENUS RETROGRADES:

On Tuesday May 15th at 10:33 A.M. EST the planet of love and possessions begins its backward motion. When Venus retrograde, issues dealing with close personal relationships are internalized. It may be difficult to express your feelings, and a relationship with deep problems, especially intimacy issues, may end. Women in particular may find it hard to articulate their feelings or their femininity. This is not a good period to redecorate your home, buy anew wardrobe, or invest in a business aimed mostly towards women.

THE SUN ENTERS GEMINI:

On Sunday May 20th at 11:16 A.M. EST we enter the mutable part of spring. This is when we morph into summer, although the ongoing climate changes are altering our natural timeline. Usually this is when the temperatures begin to climb into the 70s, but lately we are seeing 80s in April, so who know what to expect. Issues of communication and personal relationships will be most important this coming month. Short journeys will be very rewarding, and you may be busier than usual.

DARK OF THE MOON:

The next New Moon falls on Sunday May 20th at 7:47 P.M. EST at 0 degrees Gemini 21 minutes. The day or two leading up to it will be a particularly low energy period. If you tend to be emotional this may be a very trying time each month. I have found that people with prominent moons or a Cancer Sun, Moon or ascendant respond to the cycles of the moon more intensely than others. Spend this time finishing up anything that is incomplete, donÕt try to initiate new projects on a waning moon, it just wonÕt work out. Once the New Moon hits you begin new projects or attempt a new approach to an existing problem. If you have been living in a situation or involved in a relationship that is intolerable or has outlived its usefulness this would be the proper time to move on with your life. If you have been working on a project that is almost complete but you seem to lack the energy for the finality, you must push during these low energy days to end the matter once and for all. If you donÕt, when the New Moon arrives it will bring this ÒdeadÓ energy along with it and conflict with the newer force being presented. Each month we are offered a chance to clean house, so to speak.

Note: All aspects are most powerful and effective as they apply. Once the transit has completed, its force is lessened. The further it separates the weaker it becomes.

Below is a list of times this month when the Moon is Void of Course and neither important decisions nor purchases should be made during these periods. The Void of Course Moon is a time when we should try to center ourselves and deal with spiritual matters not materialistic ones. Any decisions made on the VC Moon will not turn out the way we had expected.

The Moon is Void of Course from the time it makes its last major aspect in a sign until it enters the next sign. For example, if the Moon squares Mars at 27 degrees Aries and then has no more aspects until it enters Taurus it will be Void of Course for three degrees or about 6 hours. The aspects used are the conjunction, sextile, square, trine, and opposition.

All times are Eastern Daylight:

April 25th 4:31 P.M. – April 26th 1:42 A.M.
